As Chief Operating Officer for Virtual Gurus, Margaret Glover-Campbell’s mission is to create meaningful employment for under-represented individuals. Margaret supports CEO Bobbie Racette in building Virtual Gurus into the most sought after talent-as-a-service partner and provider. She focuses on balancing people and automation to scale the organization and ensure stakeholders on both sides of the marketplace experience exceptional service. Margaret’s career began in advertising and design, building campaigns and brands for her clients. She was drawn to her tech clients, specifically tech startups, who were defining and building new industries. She eventually made the move client-side to be more hands-on in the building. Since then, Margaret has worked primarily in technology and STEM education startups and scale-ups, always being drawn back to the excitement of starting something new, creating and building products and industries that are on the brink of breaking into modern lives. Margaret spent several years working on encouraging more students to enter STEM fields, specifically in exponential technology fields such as synthetic biology, nanotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence. More recently, she turned her attention to how under-employed or unemployed STEM workers can re-skill or upskill to meet the growing demand for skilled workers in new technology fields. Margaret is passionate about empowering women to succeed in the tech sector and is a proud ally to the LGBTQ2S+ and First Nations communities.
