Russ is excited to have recently joined Amii in this role leading Amii’s industry engagements. A world-leading AI research institute, Amii (the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute) is an Alberta-based non-profit that advances leading-edge research in artificial intelligence and machine learning and translates scientific advancement into industry adoption.

One of three centres in the world’s first national AI strategy, the organization grows Canada’s AI capacity by advancing leading-edge research, accelerating careers in AI, empowering businesses to grow their in-house capabilities and connecting top talent with top organizations.

Prior to joining Amii, Russ spent the past 25 years in the Alberta technology sector in senior sales, strategic business development and investment roles most recently at Calgary-based Nureva, and SMART Technologies prior to that.
