Rick has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to excellence and innovation during his career. Rick has been involved in many different sectors and construction projects. He sits on several boards and committees, including the SAIT School of Construction Advisory Council, demonstrating his dedication to the pursuit of knowledge and innovation and unwavering passion for the industry’s growth and development.  

Rick’s ability to manage risk, profit and loss, long and short-term strategic planning and business development, and his exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiation skills lend to his outstanding leadership.  

Rick is responsible for managing Bird’s strategic plan for business development and project management and assists with operational management. Rick engages with Bird’s Centres of Excellence and Centre for Building Performance to help drive Bird’s ambitions for new sustainable, innovative, and technologically advanced practices in business and construction. Rick is also responsible for marketing and new business development, primarily for the Southern Alberta and Interior British Columbia construction markets, while maintaining National Accounts throughout Canada. Rick’s primary focus is creating value and finding solutions for clients, his peers, and the industry.
